Mateo Guillen The growth mindset affects how children react to failure. It used to be carved in a stone when a child got a problem wrong which gave them the thought of failure. We believe that over passed time, and with contributions from people or things, the child’s mind to gain positivity and set a new perspective towards their goals, making it a growth mindset. If that same child would have made a mistake, then it would motivate the child to try again instead of obtaining acceptance of not being intelligent. While, contribution is based on how change occurs after the idea of growth mindset. Over Time is the aging of an idea and it’s evolution and our imperative, Contribution is the impact it had on other topics and how it became applied to society on a larger scale. In “Developing a growth mindset” it states “ Fixed mindset children are more likely to cheat instead of study” which is important because if kids don't study and cheat then they won't learn core skills in school. In “Developing a growth mindset” it states “A school at the bottom of the district rose to the top because of growth mindset” and contribution can explain that by having a change that occurred because of a topic. In “ Clearing up common knowledge” it states “ Growth mindset changes young people, not adults” which is overtime of people's lives, because the next generation on adults will be those young people. All this evidence is important because it reveals how much growth mindset can impact children around the globe and better their lives. Our artifact is poster presentation that portrays the significance in the contribution of a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. This creative art piece incorporates the meaning that a growth mindset gives to one’s mind, as well as what a fixed mindset also does. I found a symbol of a lock of fixed mindset, and a plant of growth mindset. The lock represents a student who thinks he can't do anything, or won't take any challenges because they are afraid, while the plant represents growth mindset because it symbolizes a person who works hard to achieve their goal, opposing the thoughts of a mind. Thinking one thing can bring the mind down and make it a fixed mindset, but thinking another way can create a healthy growth mindset. I also put pictures and art in my poster. These two both illustrate a significant contribution, either leading to either mindset, or after the type of mindset has been set and affects the person’s actions. Our artifact displays the two mindsets, a growth mindset and a fixed mindset and its details. Both these contribute to one with either mindset to set their vision on a new reality. Differentiating both of them, we can see how each one displays a different effect on one’s mind. My artifact can connect to my icon because my icon is over time. Over time can contribute to one’s mind to set its view on things, like objects or jobs, thinking of them positively or negatively. My artifact is important because it interprets the significance in a fixed or growth mindset that contributes towards one’s view to their perspectives towards what they are doing or thinking.
What I learned during the project was what a fixed and growth mindset are. I learned how some people succeed by having a growth mindset. I also learned how people fail because they have a fixed mindset. I have a fixed mindset than a growth mindset. i learned how to work more with new people.
